I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Aberdeen, WA. Indeed, it rained more often than not, so I developed a love of reading!

As a teenager I moved to sunny Tucson, AZ where I learned about monsoons, snakes, and arroyos. I learned some Spanish from my friends.

In my almost 8 years of living in Colorado I have enjoyed calling home to Durango, Hesperus, and Dolores. I joined the local fire department in Hesperus and helped put out wildland fires. I also learned how to grow a productive garden in high altitude.

Graduating from Fort Lewis College was a dream come true, especially since I am the first person in my family to graduate from college. I believe that every person, at any age, is capable of success and having fun with learning. I love being a teacher because I can encourage students to grow as they walk through the next chapter of their lives.
